Beware of Convenience

We all grow and learn about the world over time in different ways. After decades of things and experiences happening along my own path, one thing that really stands out to me is convenience…..and I’ve come to realize that avoiding things that are convenient, only brings more goodness.

I wrote this adabldoya.com post for you to take as a grain of salt, and with hopes to share a

new (or support your similar) point of view about being cautious about convenience. Hope you enjoy.

What’s convenient in the world we live in? Let’s think about Convenience Stores, and the quality of goods available in convenience stores. Candy, snacks, sodas, nicotine, gambling, etc are found at convenience stores. While you can occasionally find a piece of fruit, and some might have healthy drink options, I’m positive convenience stores aren’t going to be very convenient to folks who start having personal problems from convenience store products. Fast food is equally as convenient as convenience stores, and a dude who made a documentary experiment about eating this convenient food for a year eventually died from the experiment….talk about being the ultimate example of being cautious about convenience.

On a more common note, how convenient is it ask a buddy to get you a job where they work. It’s hella convenient. But in reality it’s the buddies reputation of being a good worker that weighs into whether or not his friend can get a job, let alone keep it. If the person looking for a job put forth effort, and applied to places themselves, without the convenience of a pal’s leg-work, that person would have more skin in the game, and be exercising their ability to reply on themselves. I’m not saying a friend’s recommendation is bad, I’m just saying it can be a little too convenient in most cases.

Let’s not get convenience mixed up with coincidence. Coincidences happen coincidentally, and while they might occasionally happen in convenient times, they are still coincidences. The world indeed works in mysterious ways. Coincidences are like having a specific job opening and knowing a friend who matches the skill needed for the job, OR, when coincidentally the convenience store has the sugar you need for a recipe (which will also be conveniently overpriced)…these things happen coincidentally….and thats ok.

Convenience definition is ‘the state of being able to proceed with something with little effort or difficulty.’….and it happens to us all in may ways. This post is all about being aware of it in your life, and consider the option of taking the non-convenience path…which typically ends in strength, knowledge and goodness.
